Spots & Space has been confirmed as a sponsor of the 2025 Community Broadcasting Association of Australia (CBAA) Conference in Hobart from 23–25 October.

The CBAA Conference is the sector’s premier gathering, bringing together decision-makers from community radio and TV stations nationwide – from station managers and board members to broadcasters and technical leads. For advertisers and agencies, it represents a unique convergence of the people that power an audience of the 5.38 million Australians who tune into community radio each week. Highlights of the CBAA Conference 2025 program include keynote addresses by Professor Adrian Sargeant, a pioneering fundraising academic and world leader in the psychology of giving. The closing keynote will be delivered by Craig Reucassel, ABC Radio Sydney breakfast host after which delegates will celebrate community radio’s achievements at the industry broadcasting awards.

“The CBAA Conference is always a highlight” said Lee Hubber, Managing Director of Spots & Space. “Local and community radio is part of our DNA. The conference is a place for us to gather information about individual stations and a chance for our team to meet face-to-face with our client media. Even as the exclusively endorsed national sales team for the sector, it feels less like business—and more like a family reunion”

“We provide agencies with a single point of access to hundreds of media across the country – local, community, First Nations, multicultural, special interest and disability. The conference is where we strengthen these relationships, ensuring advertisers benefit from direct connections to deeply engaged audiences that commercial media often can’t reach.”

“In this big media world where multinationals gobble up local and independent voices, community radio in Australia cannot be merged or acquired,” added Hubber. “But community radio is a valuable channel – and the audience survey results speak for themselves.”

In 2024/25, more than 190 community stations represented by with Spots & Space brought new national advertisers on board as their sponsors — from iconic Australian brands like Telstra, Woolworths, and BHP to campaigns backed by every level of government.

Four team members will attend the Hobart conference to engage directly with broadcasters and gather information on the opportunities for agency advertisers to access these valuable markets.
